On Countdown tonight, the victim of O’Reilly’s umbrella attack, Branden Lane spoke out and called Bill-O the informant of the one percent.
Here is the video from Current TV:
O’Reilly tried to spin the incident as self-defense on his Fox News program tonight, but the victim of his attack, Branden Lane told a different story, “I think I was definitely surprised and I think you can hear that in the video. I’m like Mr. O’Reilly why are you doing this to me? Why are you attacking me with your umbrella? I was shocked. I was telling someone earlier it’s not every day you meet Bill O’Reilly, and it’s not every day you get attacked by an umbrella.”
He continued, “I was completely shocked with the situation. You would think that somebody who’s in the public spotlight just like he is just like you are would not react that way. Like you said people come up to you all the time and ask to take your picture or they video you, and even if they don’t agree with you, you’re a decent human being. You don’t attack them then try to accuse them of attacking them. Like I said it’s another example of the type of person Bill O’Reilly is. He’s main informant of the one percent, and it’s just sad. People like him need to be checked, and I’m glad we had the opportunity to do that.”
On his Fox News show, O’Reilly told a much different story:

The original video:
As Keith Olbermann pointed out, all you really need to know about Bill O’Reilly’s version of the story is that he didn’t use any of the video as he reshaped the event to portray himself as the victim of a possibly dangerous attack by an Occupy protester. Bill-O blamed DC for not having a law that would allow him to press charges, but the truth is that charges could have been pressed against O’Reilly.
It is a wise move for Lane not to bother pressing charges against Fox News’ top rated host. Bill-O played the victim on his show tonight, and pressing charges against him would have only added fuel to the Fox News narrative that Occupy Wall Street protesters are a bunch of violent thugs.
Lane’s statement was accurate. O’Reilly along with Rush Limbaugh is the main informant for the one percent.
Most people already knew about O’Reilly’s character, but what Lane’s video exposed was that behind all their bluster and propaganda is fear. Bill O’Reilly is terrified of Occupy Wall Street, and his umbrella attack was a fear based overreaction to a simple question.
Bill O’Reilly was neither the tough guy nor the victim. He was a cowardly man who attacked a man on the street then tried to have his victim arrested. Bill-O is the typical one percenter.
He wasn’t satisfied with attacking the 99%, he also tried to have them arrested.
