We saw the hate group known as the American Family Association (AFA) go after Ben & Jerry’s over a flavor of ice cream. They’re not leaving AARP (once known as the American Association of Retired Persons) alone either, claiming “AARP uses member resources to advocate same-sex marriage and special rights for immoral behavior.”
Use of the term “special rights” should immediately send up warning alarms for any freedom-loving American. It’s a conservative code word for somebody wants their rights protected – the same rights the conservatives in question enjoy.
At the same time I was brought up to consider all possibilities so I looked at this one from every which way…Special rights for immoral behavior? My first thought was, “Where do I sign up?” I mean, is this one of those committing the oldest of sins in the newest of ways things, but with an AARP discount? And I missed it?
Now I’m a member of AARP and I’ve never seen any advocacy of special rights for “immoral behavior” in the material I receive in the mail. Was I being left out? I began wondering if there was some special membership I had to qualify for before I got the “good stuff.”
Oh, don’t go getting all excited now. It turns out the AFA is just worked up over equal rights, as usual – equal for anyone other than heterosexual white Protestants meaning “special” in their eyes:
Part of their membership fees or profits used to advocate same-sex marriage, homosexual adoption, repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” military policy and special rights for immoral behavior.
That’s right: it’s more of the AFA’s hate-filled, sexually repressed and obsessed morality nightmare. Only my genteel upbringing keeps me from suggesting that somebody needs to get laid – and bad.
In case you’re wondering, it turns out AARP’s sin was this:
Page 38 of the July/August AARP bulletin contained an article titled “Pride Is Ageless” which announced AARP’s plans for “advocacy efforts in the LGBT arena.”
Well call me Sally! How dare those LGBT folks grow old and expect to be treated like any other retired person! Shouldn’t they just all die like those icky sick people we don’t want insured? Yep, AARP should cater only to heterosexual Protestant Christians who like to take their drugs and male prostitutes in the closet where they belong!
The article stated “AARP has created a new online home for the older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.” The page links to news stories on such hot topics as same-sex marriage, gay adoption and the repeal of the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy, as well as articles on personal finance, travel and other issues of interest. In addition, the site clarifies AARP’s positions and advocacy efforts in the LGBT arena. Check out the page at aarp.org/pride. You may read this new AARP section for yourself by clicking here.
AFA doesn’t explain where “special rights” for immoral behavior can be found unless it’s “special rights” to ask to be treated like a human being. And we can’t have that, can we?
We have to remember that the AFA is a hate group. They’re in the business of hate. They hate a hate that is uglier than home-made sin. They are not in the business of making sense and they’re not encouraging people to think. They want their readers to feel, to emote, preferably negatively.
That’s how the hate game is played.
So all you AFAers out there, if you’re not too busy putting down Native Americans for not being Christian enough or for not just dying and getting out of the way for real Americans (i.e. white Protestants), AFA wants you to take time out of your hate-filled schedule to lay down the smack on another marginalized segment of our population:
Please forward this article to anyone that you know who may be an AARP member including friends whose parents or grandparents may be members and encourage them to consider cancelling their membership, otherwise their money may be used to promote the homosexual political agenda.
Look, there is no escaping the fact that this is Third Reich kinda stuff here. Just substitute “Jew” for whatever other group the AFA is attacking today and you’ve got an identical match. You don’t need to be a forensic scientist to diagnose this crime. You do have to have a below room temperature IQ to join this bunch. So by all means, leave the AARP. I sure don’t want to share membership with people who, even if they were twice as smart as they think they are would still be half-wits.
