If Americans Really Paid Attention, Republicans Would Never Win Elections

The goal of Americans For Prosperity, Americans For Tax Reform and other conservative groups is to defund the left. This isn’t some liberal left leaning opinion. This is a fact put out by the conservatives themselves.

Grover Norquist, who is the unelected head of the Republican Party and the head of Americans For Tax Reform (No Tax Pledge) said, “We will hunt [these liberal groups] down one by one and extinguish their funding sources.” This brings me to my point regarding the recent attacks on teachers, firefighter and police officers.

Unions have long been the funding source of the Democratic Party, so it should be of no surprise that once the private sector unions have been all but eliminated, the public sector was next.

This isn’t about government fiscal responsibility! It’s about political power. Once unions in both the private sector and the public sector have been eliminated, the Democratic Party will be at an enormous financial disadvantage or they will have to cater to Wall Street and Corporate America even more than they do now, leaving NOBODY to speak on behalf of working Americans and small community, family businesses.

ACORN was another liberal group the GOP attacked. It was accused of voter fraud even though the Government Accountability Office found very little evidence to back the right wing claim of voter fraud. So what happened, the Republican Party defunded it anyway, taking away a path for the poor to be engaged in the political process.

Paul Weyrich, the founder of the Heritage Foundation said so steadfastly and with conviction that “our leverage in the election quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.” This leads into to my other point about voter ID laws and how they make it harder to become participants in the electoral process and the REAL REASON to get rid of ACORN.

On an economic note, I have pointed out in another article that the Republican Party lied about taxes and have tricked the American people to support reducing corporate tax and “starving the beast.” The beasts are the programs that help people. Even though most of our manufacturing went to the HIGH TAXED country of China, the GOP still lies about corporate taxes being the reason for the United States losing its manufacturing base.

This has created the REAL funding issue with Social Security and Medicare which is funded through wages. If outsourcing never occurred and good paying jobs were plentiful, Social Security and Medicare would be running surpluses.

The GOP doesn’t defend the average person, they defend the “corporate person.” Much like Mitt Romney stated in Iowa.

Corporate America doesn’t care about the little people, and they don’t care about American small businesses. All they care about is the consolidation of power and aggregated capital and buying out their competitors. Their front group is the GOP, but the Democratic Party is being led to the right also.

Until the American people rise up against this oligarchy created out of lies, we do not have a chance to strengthen the American middle class that has come out of the liberal movement of the 1950s and 60s. What Americans have forgotten is the meaning of shared prosperity!

The essence of the middle class has evaporated when such a large portion of economic growth stays within the top ONE PERCENT of earners.

America needs shared prosperity! When the economy is growing and GDP is rising, American workers, who helped create the wealth need to share in the fruits of their labor.

If Americans really knew that the GOP have been lying through their teeth, the Republican Party would either fade off into history or have to come to the center, which is where they were during Eisenhower and Goldwater.
