Donald Trump Says No One In 2012 GOP Field Can Beat Obama

On Fox and Friends this morning, Donald Trump said that no one in the current GOP field can beat Obama in 2012.

Here is the video:

When asked during his usual Monday morning segment on Fox and Friends about the rest of the GOP field Trump said, “Well, I’d rather really talk about the others when they announce, and the ones that I have announced I just don’t see it at this point in time. They’re not going to be beating Obama.”

Trump talked about how important 2012 is, “You give up so much when you do this, and it was just a decision I made, but who knows stranger things have happened. I look at these Republican candidates, and I say what’s going on? This country can not afford to lose this election. Interestingly, I got back from New Hampshire, made the speech. We had the largest crowd ever in that area of New Hampshire. It was an amazing situation, and I came back and I said during that speech that this is the most important election that the country has ever had. Except and I did qualify it by saying, except for George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.”

Donald Trump hinted that he might jump in to the GOP race late, “I would not rule it out. I said I wouldn’t do it. I said I probably you know in so many different respects I see what’s going on. “I can’t rule out anything … It’s vital that we choose the right person, and at this moment, I don’t see that person.”

It is no surprise that con man Donald Trump would seek to keep the flirtation going with 2012. Trump misses the attention he garnered by being a fake presidential candidate. He has his new NBC contract, so he is simply doing this because he is a media whore who is yearning for some spotlight. As a consequence of Huckabee’s decision not to run, Trump and Sarah Palin has both come out of the woodwork to soak up some spotlight. The difference between Trump and Palin is that Trump will never run. Sarah Palin might.

In a moment of lucidity, Donald Trump managed to get one thing right. No one in the current GOP field will beat Obama. Yes I know the Obama campaign is saying the right things about expecting a close race, and as professionals they have to prepare for 2012 as if it will be a tight contest, but this group of Republican candidates is insanely bad. They are so bad that Fox News is trying to use Donald Trump to give their viewers hope for next year.

Donald Trump knows that this group can’t beat Obama, Fox news knows these candidates will be eaten alive by Obama, and even GOP leaders know that these candidates aren’t going to cut it, but Donald Trump is not the answer. The truth is that there is no great white hope coming through the door to beat Obama. (Sorry, but Chris Christie isn’t it either).

Fox News is openly devoting air time to a discussion of how bad the current 2012 field is. Donald Trump may live in a fantasy world created by his own BS, but even he sees that none of these Republicans can beat Obama.
