Fox Advocates Waterboarding President Obama

On the desert outpost of television known as Fox Business, FNC’s Eric Bolling asked viewers to tell him via Facebook who they would like to see waterboarded. Bolling then read some choice selections on the air. The list included President Obama, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow.

Here is the video from Media Matters:

Bolling said, “The info that brought the terrorist in chief to justice was gotten through waterboarding simple as that.

Fox viewers want to waterboard Obama:

They also want to waterboard Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow:

Eric Bolling responded to his viewers’ suggestions by saying, “I agree with them.” Bolling said that people are welcome to waterboard him, and he offered Jesse Ventura to do that. Bolling said, “I’m all for this, Ellen. There are people whose lives are at stake because of waterboarding.”

Eric Bolling agreed with the idea of waterboarding the President of the United States. Fox saw no problem with airing a viewer’s wish to waterboard the President. If waterboarding is no big deal as people like Sean Hannity and Bolling claim then why haven’t they been waterboarded yet? If it is so painless, prove us all wrong and allow yourself to be waterboarded on the air.

There is a logical contradiction in the right-wing position on waterboarding. They defend waterboarding by saying that it is not torture. It’s not life threatening or harsh, but in the next breath these same people tell you what an effective interrogation tool waterboarding is. How can waterboarding both be an effective interrogation technique, and so simple that Sean Hannity can do it? (That is if he had the guts to do it.) The answer is that it can’t be and isn’t both. Waterboarding is torture.

Bolling claimed that waterboarding provided the information that led to the death of Bin Laden, but timeline doesn’t add up. The CIA waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Muhammad 183 times in a month 8-9 years ago. If KSM would have given the CIA info then, why didn’t the Bush administration get Bin Laden? If this is the information that led to Bin Laden, why didn’t Bush get him? The answer was revealed in a 2007 hearing. Under torture, KSM gave the CIA false information. Torture didn’t lead to actionable intelligence. It took investigators further off the trail of Bin Laden.

Fox News supports waterboarding Barack Obama. There has never been a clearer symbol of the contempt, and the depth of hatred that they have for their country because Barack Obama is our president. What other news network would dare put such a statement on the air? Fox is instilling in its viewers a mentality of hate and violence towards the President of the United States.

Fox News has unleashed a treasonous plague on our country, and yet they continue to disgrace the term by calling themselves patriots.

As Cicero said, “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”
