Apparently feeling upstaged by Sarah Palin’s resignation, Joe the Plumber jumped back into the news today by expressing his views on immigrants and immigration. He said that as a matter of national security the United States should, “Get them the hell out of our damn country and close the borders down.”
Here is the video courtesy of Think Progress:
Joe said, “I believe in making sure our country is safe first. I believe we need to spend a little more on illegal immigrants. Get them the hell out of our damn country and close the borders down. We can do it. We’ve got the greatest military in the world and you’re telling me we can’t close our borders? — That’s just ridiculous.”
Just when you start to think that Wurzelbacher can’t possibly get any dumber, he comes out with this gem. Um, Joe, exactly how many immigrants have committed acts of terror in the United States? I am certain that the answer is zero. Let’s just look at some recent examples, the man who murdered abortion doctor George Tiller was a white American. The Holocaust Museum shooter was also a white America.
In fact, the men behind the Oklahoma City bombing were also white American citizens. I think we as a people should be more concerned about American born and made fringe right wingers then immigrants coming across the border. Joe Wurzelbacher once again put his full ignorance on display for the world to see.
What has to be most disheartening to John McCain and the people behind his 2008 presidential campaign is that Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber will be the lasting images of their failed attempt at the presidency. McCain unwittingly detonated a weapon of mass political destruction on his own party he made Joe Wurzelbacher famous.
